“Read. Read anything. Read the things they say are good for you, and the things they claim are junk. You’ll find what you need to find. Just read.” Neil Gaiman
Tears. Tears.Tears.
I had not one clue to what was going to happen in the end ! i didn't expect it at all !
it broke my heart.
This story is told by Cadence. She comes from a wealthy family. Every year she and her family spend their summer on her grandfather's private island. Her and her two cousins ~Mirren and Johnny~ as well as their aunt's boyfriend's nephew , Gat, they are always together . They are the Liars.
When Cadence is fifteen she suffers an injury and loses some of her memories. She remembers bits over time and then she turns to the Liars to fill in the gaps and what she discovers is shocking and terrible.
This book is so addictive, so twisted.
It's too good. ♥
Title : The Bones of the Earth
Author : Scott Hale
***
I LOVE Scott Hale's writing style ( unique and very descriptive ), and the story itself was amazing !
very strong characters.
it all happens in a post-apocalyptic world , Vrana Of the Raven is the main character , a hunter who goes on an adventure to seek answers, a journey that changes her life forever.
haunting, horrific, all in all just great !
Lovely, strange, Beautiful and Painful, Sad love story.
i was really confused as to whether I should rate this book 4 or 5 !
reason was that i really didn't like the ending ! but still I could not bring myself to give anything less than 5 either! for i loved the story.
I actually listened to ‘Norwegian wood’ song by Beatles once it was mentioned in the book and i was listening to it whenever i was reading it. it was a great.
All the characters were amazing , for their strange gentleness and imperfection.
Toru Watanabe, Naoko, Reiko, Midori, Nagasawa and Hatsumi, i fell in love with each one of them, they seemed so real to me.
The writing was absolutely gorgeous.
this was my first Murakami reading , an excellent introduction to his work. i'll absolutely read his other novels.
a great thriller with a very unexpected surprising ending. |
I love this book so much ! The story haunted me deeply for a long time, it's one of the most unusual and powerful books I have ever read.
Born Chris McCandless, he changed his name to Alexander Supertramp, a young man who left his family and friends, donated his college money , abandoned most of his material possessions, went to the Alaska wilderness and died there. Chris craved Freedom, a desire to escape, He lived a life he wanted to live, in his own way.
this is not just the story of Chris but the story of many people and families that He touched and inspired in his odyssey and despite the fact that his journey cost him his life, but he was more alive and experienced than most people do in a entire lifetime. He was Brave, He was Unique.
Jon Krakauer did a great job telling the story of McCandless through a lot of research based on letters, journal entries and interviews with people who knew Chris.
i highly recommend this book ♥
a great story !
Holden Caulfield is a unique character. a kid dissatisfied with everything and everyone around him. He tells the events and thoughts of what he experienced in days after he gets kicked out of his school for bad grades. i liked the way how he saw people and the honesty in it. He points out the stuff that nobody wants to admit.he's crazy too and moody.
The beautiful part of the book is that at the same time that Holden has these feelings of hate for people, he recognizes the beauty of humanity, even the people that he hated the most he somehow missed them once he's left and, in a way, he loves them too.
also, his relationship with his little sister is just amazing.
The Catcher in the Rye is good, sometimes funny , a picture of how it feels to grow up in a confusing world.
i loved it and i highly recommend it.
oh this is so adorable ♥ by the amazing Amanda Palmer
Neil Gaiman makes the most beautiful, magical stories even when he is asleep *.*
Title : The Mists of Avalon (Avalon #1)
Author : Marion Zimmer Bradley
♥♥♥
Her work was done ...
oh ! that was an excellent read.
since I was a little girl, i was always interested and fascinated by the Arthurian Legend, King Arthur, Camelot, The Merlin, Excalibur, Lancelot, The Knights of the Round Table and most of all Morgaine the great mistress of magic !
I would say i enjoyed this story the best, and i liked it that it was wholly written from the perspective of the very strong female characters.
"The Mists of Avalon" is a masterpiece, i'll probably read it all over again one day, I highly recommend it.
